Cat Friendly Practice
“Have we seen your cat lately?”
Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital is proud to become a Certified Cat Friendly practice, as of September 15, 2014.
Cats are the most common household pet in the United States. According to a recent survey over 85 million people own cats and one in three households claim a feline as a member of the family. We know that cats are a huge part of the HEAH family.
As many cat lovers know, cats are great hiders of illness. In the wild, showing signs of disease is a sign of weakness and makes them a target to predators. Domestic cats, despite being raised in safe and loving homes, haven’t lost the instinct to protect themselves. Cats often won’t show signs of illness until it is too late for veterinarians to treat them.
Unfortunately, cats are great hiders when it comes to visiting the veterinarian as well. Somehow they almost always seem to know when a doctor’s appointment is approaching. On the day of the visit, cats are usually nowhere to be found, resulting in owners cancelling the appointment and giving up on taking their cat to the veterinarian entirely.
HEAH is making your cat’s trip to the veterinarian much easier and less stressful by supplying you with helpful tips on bringing your cat to the hospital and by following a list of criteria dedicated to the comfort and well being of your pet.
When you see the CFP designation at a practice, you can be confident your cat will be given exceptional care and attention through all phases of the visit including examinations, procedures and hospitalization.
We know the importance of regular exams to a cat’s well being in their first years of life. As they age, we understand the necessity of introducing even more screening and examinations to rule out or treat possible life threatening illnesses such as cancers, lymphomas, heart disease, and more. By introducing the Have You Seen My Cat lately program we will be able to continue our commitment of providing felines a lifetime of love and care.
